Vilnius Summit Locks Ukraine in Servile Status, Brutal War With No Way Out
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Volodymyr Zelensky was promised continuing Western support at the summit in Vilnius, but he was also reminded of his country's "servile status" to the Western alliance, which is interested in keeping Ukraine entangled in a never-ending Russian-NATO proxy war of attrition, US analysts told Sputnik.
The meeting of the 31-member NATO bloc in the Lithuanian capital from July 11-12 angered Zelensky by refusing to commit to any hard invitation and fixed timetable for Kiev to join the Atlantic alliance. US President Joe Biden made clear Ukraine would not get membership as long as its conflict with Russia continued.

"I did raise the issue when we were there," Pence said during an interview with Carlson, when asked whether he raised the religious persecution of Christians while on a recent trip to Ukraine. "I raised it with the leader of the Orthodox church [of Ukraine] when I was visiting Kiev."

The ‘international coalition’ seeking to help Kiev procure F-16s and train Ukrainian pilots was first announced by the UK and the Netherlands in mid-May, with the US coming on board a few days later. A total of 11 countries have supported the initiative, with a training center expected to be set up in Romania.

Israeli officials protested to Sweden on Friday after local police gave the go-ahead to a request to allow the burning of a Bible outside of the Israeli embassy in Stockholm on Saturday, saying that the decision was tantamount to a “hate crime.”
Local police two weeks ago said they had received an application from an individual in his 30s to burn a Jewish and a Christian Bible outside Israel’s Embassy in Stockholm on July 15 as “a symbolic gathering for the sake of freedom of speech.”
