“I said that if you think that Americans and others will continue to invest in China based on your violating the sanctions that have been imposed on Russia, I think you’re making a gigantic mistake, but that’s your decision to make,” Biden said in a CBS News interview aired Sunday night.

President Joe Biden issued a surprisingly blunt response when asked in a CBS "60 Minutes" interview what the US reaction would be if China decided to invade Taiwan.
Biden answered "yes" when asked whether American forces would defend the self-ruled island if it came under Chinese military invasion. "Yes, if, in fact, there was an unprecedented attack," he said in a sit-down with Scott Pelley, which aired in full Sunday night.

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake rattled much of Taiwan on Sunday, which followed a 6.4 magnitude earthquake Saturday, according to Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
The magnitude 6.8 quake hit around 2:44 pm local time (0644 GMT), with an epicenter in Taitung county, a town in the eastern part of the island nation. CWB said the quake was recorded at a relatively shallow depth of 7 kilometers (4 miles).
