Ukraine is gearing up for a major battle against Russia in the country’s southeast, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday during a joint press conference with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer in Kiev. At the same time, however, Ukraine is looking for “certain diplomatic ways” to end the ongoing conflict, Zelensky added.
“We see preparations for an important – and some say decisive – battle,” he claimed.
“In the east, and not only in the east, but also in the south, there is an accumulation of troops. {There is} a large number of troops, equipment, armed people who are going to occupy another part of our territories. It will be a difficult battle. We believe in our struggle, we believe in our victory,” Zelensky said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that an EU member state’s leader called into question Kiev’s version of events surrounding the Bucha killings, asking for proof that the atrocities were not staged.

The remark came after the Bild journalist asked what the worst thing he had heard in recent days was. When the interviewer probed further, asking whether it was the head of state of an EU nation, Zelensky replied in the affirmative, though he refused to name the official.

Oklahoma House Approves Near-Total Abortion Ban
The Oklahoma House of Representatives, currently controlled by the Republicans, approved on Tuesday a bill banning abortion in the state, even in cases of rape or incest.
The law was approved last year by the State Senate and now the bill will be sent to Governor Kevin Stitt, who pledged to sign any law supported by state legislators.
The legislation allows abortions only in the case of a medical emergency. If signed into law, it would penalize abortion providers up to $100,000 in fines or up to 10 years imprisonment, or both, according to the draft bill.
