Emmanuel Macron Reelected as French President
On Sunday, France held the second round of its presidential election, with Emmanuel Macron fending off a challenge from right-wing National Rally leader Marine Le Pen for the second time.
France's incumbent President Emmanuel Macron won the second round of the presidential election, the country's Interior Ministry confirmed after all the votes were counted.
Macron secured 58.55 percent of the votes in the runoff and became the first president in 20 years to have been reelected. His rival, right-wing presidential candidate and leader of the National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, secured 41.45 percent.
On Sunday, Emmanuel Macron said that his second term would be turbulent, but historical for France.
Australia Calls for War Readiness as Solomon-China Pact Triggers Tensions in Pacific

A US delegation openly warned the Solomon Islands’ government, saying any step to establish a permanent military presence by Beijing in the southern pacific nation would receive a strong response.
Australia has issued a warning over the Solomon Islands-China security pact following significant efforts by the US and its allies to thwart the deal. On Monday, Defence Minister Peter Dutton said that Australia could only preserve peace by preparing for war.
"The only way you can preserve peace is to prepare for war, and to be strong as a country. Not to cower, not to be on bended knee and be weak. That's the reality", Dutton told Channel 9 regarding Prime Minister Scott Morrison's remarks saying Australia was setting up a red line in the Pacific over the Solomon Islands-China security pact.

Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, the head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said that armed units will “withdraw to a safe distance and maintain the exit of civilians from the said area in any direction they choose.”

Rockefeller Foundation President Starts Countdown Until All Hell Breaks Loose
Rockefeller Foundation President Rajiv Shah told Bloomberg Television's David Westin a "massive, immediate food crisis" is on the horizon.
He said global fertilizer supply disruptions caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine would have an "even worse" impact on the crisis, slashing crop yields worldwide.
Shah said debt relief and emergency aid for emerging market countries are needed to mitigate the effects of the food crisis.
Shah's appearance on Bloomberg is interesting because of the foundation's repetitive talk about the need for the global food supply to be reset to a more sustainable one. The foundation has closely aligned views with the World Economic Forum (WEF), advocating for a 'global reset'.
