A furious Beijing today warned US politicians they will 'come to no good end' if they 'play with fire' over Taiwan as video emerged purportedly showing tanks lined up on beaches opposite the island.
Chilling footage shared on Chinese social network Weibo appears to show amphibious tanks on the coast of Fujian along the Taiwan Strait. Further footage shows military equipment on the move in the city of Xiamen.
The unverified videos emerged amid soaring tensions between China and US with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi touching down in Taipei today. Pelosi is the highest-ranking U.S. elected official to visit Taiwan since 1997.

Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng has urgently summoned the US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns on Tuesday night, to lodge “stern representations” over the House Speaker’s visit to Taiwan and warn Washington against going further down the “dangerous path” of antagonizing Beijing.
“The move is extremely egregious in nature and the consequences are extremely serious. China will not sit idly by,” Xie told Burns, as cited by Xinhua.

Russia regards the potential visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan as a “purely provocative” act and fully supports China in its dispute with Washington, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said during a press conference on Tuesday.
Peskov warned that while “we can’t say for sure” whether or not Pelosi will touch down on the island, her entire tour of the region and possible visit to Taipei “provokes a situation” and “leads to tension.”

China had issued multiple threats related to the trip, prompting Taiwan to call back soldiers that were on leave and begin preparing them for a potential war with the Chinese Communist Party.
“We would like to tell the United States once again that China is standing by, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army will never sit idly by, and China will take resolute responses and strong countermeasures to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said during a daily press briefing prior to her arrival, according to a report from CBS News.

I must admit that I have to take a 'time out' on occasion because everything is depressing these days and I need, at times, just to encounter a mid summers sunset or incredible cloud formation in the canvas that is the heavens and just appreciate being in the moment for I have no idea how many I will have before my time is complete.
