Russian leader responds to seizure of his country's assets abroad
The nationalization of assets is a double-edged weapon, Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed during a government meeting in response to some Western countries proposing to seize his country's property abroad.
“We’re already hearing announcements coming from some officials about the possible nationalization of some of our assets. Well, this can be taken very far. Let no one forget that this is a double-edged weapon,” he cautioned on Tuesday.

NATO to Build New Centre for Quantum Technology in Denmark
The development of quantum computers is part of an international race for supercomputers and is poised to change everything from weather forecasts to military modelling, encryption, and code-breaking.
NATO has chosen to launch a new centre for the development of quantum technology in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.
The idea behind the centre, which will be part of the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen, named after the Danish physicist who was among the pioneers in quantum mechanics, is to develop and test new multi-use technology to boost green transition, navigation, research, and defence. The Technical University of Denmark, Aarhus University, and the Danish National Metrology Institute are also expected to contribute.
According to Danish Defence Minister Morten Bodskov, the development of quantum technology will bring major security policy changes for Denmark and NATO.

On March 19, Iraq commemorated the 19th anniversary of the US invasion which killed, according to modest estimates, over a million Iraqis. The consequences of that war were equally devastating as it destabilized the entire Middle East region, leading to various civil and proxy wars. The Arab world is reeling under that horrific experience to this day.
Russia to resume flights with Israel and 51 other 'friendly' countries
Russia has closed its airspace to airlines from 36 countries, including all 27 members of the European Union, in response to Ukraine-related sanctions targeting its aviation sector.
Russia plans to end restrictions on flights to and from 52 countries after April 9, part of its plans to reduce measures taken to slow the spread of COVID-19, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Monday.
Russia plans to resume flights to and from Argentina, South Africa and other "friendly countries," Mishustin said, meaning those that have not joined the latest wave of Western sanctions on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow calls a "special operation" to demilitarize its neighbor.
Less than 10% got COVID throughout the pandemic
Data from April 1 shows that only 9 per cent of Canadians were even infected with COVID-19 throughout the pandemic, and only 0.0993 per cent died from it — despite near-constant fearmongering from the mainstream media.
As of April 1, there have been 3,507,206 recorded cases of COVID-19 in Canada since the pandemic began. For a population of slightly over 38 million, that’s less than 10 per cent.
Additionally, there have only been 37,728 COVID-related deaths.
In other words, after two years of lockdowns, medical tyranny, segregation, and all the other abhorrent actions taken by the Canadian government, COVID-19 has had a total death rate of 0.0993 per cent. This is only slightly higher than the annual flu, which had a death rate of 0.0232 per cent in 2018, right before COVID came along.

TSA, DHS to stop using gender in security processes
The TSA said it is working closely with airline carriers to promote the use of “X” and “U” (undisclosed) gender markers in their reservation systems, its press release said.

The TSA will update its advanced imaging technology (AIT) at airport checkpoints with the help of $18.6 million from Congress, according to a press release shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation. The new AIT system will be gender-neutral.
“By replacing the current, gender-based AIT system, this new, more accurate technology will also advance civil rights,” the TSA said in its release.

The mass of people know that the politicians in government are a bit crooked but want to believe that they are not completely crooked. Questioning that belief requires great strength because we like to believe that people are fundamentally good and we like to be able to trust the people who rule our world. The principle of cognitive dissonance means that most people find it difficult to believe that anyone in power could be determined to control them, harm them both physically and mentally and eventually to destroy them.

A tornado emergency was declared for the city, located about 73 miles south of Columbia. Damage is still being assessed. “We have downed power lines that are blocking several roads we have a couple of cars get hit by trees and I know there is at least one roof that has been removed from someone’s house,” Allendale County Emergency Management Director Kara Troy told The Weather Channel.

OpenAI’s top researcher has made a startling claim this week: that artificial intelligence may already be gaining consciousness.
Ilya Sutskever, chief scientist of the OpenAI research group, tweeted today that “it may be that today’s large neural networks are slightly conscious.”
Needless to say, that’s an unusual point of view. The widely accepted idea among AI researchers is that the tech has made great strides over the past decade, but still falls far short of human intelligence, nevermind being anywhere close to experiencing the world consciously.
It’s possible that Sutskever was speaking facetiously, but it’s also conceivable that as the top researcher at one of the foremost AI groups in the world, he’s already looking downrange.
