Ukraine currently has only one plan, which is a campaign to kill the maximum number of Russians, Mikhail Podoliak, an advisor to the chief of President Vladimir Zelensky’s office, said on the air during a telemarathon on Thursday.

“There is only one plan: the most brutal advance with the maximum killing of Russians on this route,” he said, noting that Kiev “can’t just stop somewhere and say ‘alright, let's think and talk about something now.’“

Nine UAVs attempted to strike targets on Russia’s Black Sea peninsula, a top regional official has said

Nine drones have been taken out by air defenses in Russia’s Crimea, Governor Sergey Aksyonov said on Thursday morning.

According to Aksyonov, six UAVs were shot down from the sky, while three others were disabled by using signal-jamming equipment. He said that one drone “exploded” in the village of Dokuchayevo in the central part of the peninsula.

Biden admin preparing evacuation plans for Americans in Taiwan: Report

President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly preparing plans to evacuate Americans living in Taiwan, three sources familiar with the matter said, according to The Messenger.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a senior U.S. intelligence official said the Biden administration has been preparing such plans for six months and “it’s heated up over the past two months or so.”

Home Front Command drilled a scenario in which about 100 civilians would be killed and about a thousand would be wounded.

Last week, the Home Front Command, led by Rafi Milo, conducted the "Firm Hand" exercise, simulating a multi-front conflict, during which the Air Force drilled, among other things, strikes on targets in Iran. 

According to the scenario, in response to the attacks, missiles will be fired at Israel from Iran and by pro-Iranian Shiite militias from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, with most of the hits being in the northern areas and Haifa. All of this will likely be accompanied by violent disturbances within Israel.

China Rebukes US In Phone Call Ahead Of Blinken's Arrival In Beijing Sunday

A Blinken trip to China has finally been confirmed, following the latest, albeit tense, phone call between the US Secretary of State and his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang. Both sides have said Blinken will be in Beijing on Sunday and Monday. Qin told Blinken in the Wednesday call the US must stop meddling in China's affairs.

State Dept spokesperson Matthew Miller in a new statement describing the itinerary said, "Blinken will travel to Beijing, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), and London, the United Kingdom, June 16-21." He detailed: "While in Beijing, Secretary Blinken will meet with senior PRC officials where he will discuss the importance of maintaining open lines of communication to responsibly manage the US-PRC relationship. He will also raise bilateral issues of concern, global and regional matters, and potential cooperation on shared transnational challenges."

Annual US Excess Deaths Relative To Other Developed Countries Are Growing At An Alarming Rate

People in the U.S. are dying at higher rates than in other similar high-income countries, and that difference is only growing. That’s the key finding of a new study that I published in the journal PLOS One.

In 2021, more than 892,000 of the 3,456,000 deaths the U.S. experienced, or about 1 in 4, were “excess deaths.” In 2019, that number was 483,000 deaths, or nearly 1 in 6. That represents an 84.9% increase in excess deaths in the U.S. between 2019 and 2021.

Excess deaths refer to the actual number of deaths that occur in a given year compared with expected deaths over that same time period based on prior years or, as in this study, in other countries.

North Korean hackers stole more than $100 million worth of digital currency in a recent heist affecting users of the Atomic Wallet service, cryptocurrency analytics firm Elliptic said Tuesday.

In a blog post, Elliptic said that more than 5,500 digital wallets were hit by the hackers, who the firm said were part of the North Korean cybercrime gang often called Lazarus.
