Mikhail Gorbachev dies at 91
He will be remembered as the father of ‘perestroika’ but also for presiding over the fall of the Soviet Union
Mikhail Gorbachev, the first and only president of the Soviet Union, has died at the age of 91, in Moscow.
His death was reported on Tuesday night by the Central Clinical Hospital, which said in a statement that “Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev died this evening after a serious and prolonged illness.”
According to the news agency TASS, Gorbachev was hospitalized at the very beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, at the request of his doctors, and had been under medical supervision ever since.

Biological laboratories in Ukraine and other foreign countries were never used to develop weapons, the US government claimed on Monday, in a joint statement with other participants in the program.
Nine countries, including Ukraine, are included in the explanation, which was issued months after Russia accused Washington of maintaining a secret overseas germ warfare program.
Heavily armed Russian Navy ships sail between Britain and Ireland
In a proactive move, a group of Russian Navy ships are currently entering the Irish Sea. There are clear indications that they will sail up and around the United Kingdom. Among other things, this will take them close to major submarine base of Faslane.
The group is led by the SLAVA class cruiser Marshal Ustinov. The UDALOY class destroyer Vice-Admiral Kulakov and a tanker, Vyazma, are with her (him).

China Is Aggressively Reselling Russian Gas To Europe
One month ago, we were surprised to read how, despite a suppressed appetite for energy amid its housing crash and economic downturn (for which "zero covid" has emerged as a convenient scapegoat for emperor Xi), China has been soaking up more Russian natural gas so far this year, while imports from most other sources declined.
In July, the SCMP reported that according to Chinese customs data, in the first six months of the year, China bought a total of 2.35 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) – valued at US$2.16 billion. The import volume increased by 28.7% year on year, with the value surging by 182%. It meant Russia has surpassed Indonesia and the United States to become China’s fourth-largest supplier of LNG so far this year!

Russia Reduces Natural Gas Supplies to France; Gov't warns RATIONING possible
Russia has reduced the amount of gas it is sending to a major energy company in France, the Prime Minister of which has already warned that energy rationing over the winter is now in the cards.
Vladimir Putin’s Russia has once again cut down on the amount of gas it is sending to a European state, this time targeting France with the reduction in its much relied upon energy exports on Tuesday.
The action follows a warning from the French Prime Minister that the central European state could be forced to ration the use of energy over the winter months, while begging industry in the state to do all they can to reduce their own usage.

US Army Grounds Entire Fleet Of Chinook Helicopters After Reports Of "Engine Fires"
WSJ reported one of the US Army's top heavy-lift helicopters was grounded in the last 24 hours due to a risk of engine fires.
US officials said the Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter fleet (about 400 helicopters) had been grounded after numerous engine fires were reported. One of the officials said no injuries or deaths occurred during any of the incidents. They said the latest occurred a few days ago.

Rockefeller Foundation Funds Behavioural Scientists to Push Covid Injections in Africa and the Americas
An initiative funded in part by the Rockefeller Foundation is investing an initial $7.2 million in behavioural research focused on convincing more people to get the Covid-19 injections, the foundation announced last week.
The initiative is called The Mercury Project, run by the Social Science Research Council (“SSRC”). In September 2021, the SSRC received a three-year $7.5 million grant from the Rockefeller Foundation toward the costs of launching a research consortium to drive acceptance and uptake of Covid-19 vaccination efforts and provide insights to counter health misinformation and disinformation. The grant will fund research through 31 August 2024.

As Target Pushes Transgender Lifestyle on Youth, Retailer Sees 90% Decline in Profits
Woke retailer Target has recently suffered a significant decline in profits as it pushes to normalize the transgender lifestyle. On Wednesday, Target revealed that its second-quarter profits for this year have fallen nearly 90% after being forced to slash the prices on unwanted merchandise.
The company’s second-quarter net income was only $183 million, after earning $1.82 billion in the same period last year.
In the first quarter, Target also saw its profits fall by 52%.

Activity book tells kids to ‘explore’ feelings on assisted dying
The Canadian Virtual Hospice has created an “activity book” to help children “explore their feelings” about doctor-assisted dying “by someone in your life.”
The workplace explains what doctor-assisted suicide is — more commonly referred to as Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) or euthanasia — and explains why someone would want it, who is eligible and how it works.
“This book was created for young people, like you, who have someone in their life who may have MAiD,” the activity book reads.
It says it’s “suited” to children aged six to 12, but may also be helpful for younger children.
