BREAKING: US to Send F-16s to Ukraine
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has sent letters to Denmark and Norway assuring that the Biden government would expedite approvals for all transfers of F-16s to Ukraine. In the letters Blinken said that the F-16s would transfered once Ukrainian pilots have completed the Danish and Norwegian lead training program:
I am writing to express the United States’ full support for both the transfer of F-16 fighter aircraft to Ukraine and for the training of Ukrainian pilots by qualified F-16 instructors…. It remains critical that Ukraine is able to defend itself against ongoing Russian aggression and violation of its sovereignty.

US intelligence agencies have made a “grim” assessment of Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive, believing Kiev will fail to plunge south toward the Crimean Peninsula by the end of the year, according to the Washington Post.
Officials voiced doubts about the Ukrainian mission in a classified intel report, the contents of which were relayed to the Post on Thursday, with the outlet citing Moscow’s “brutal proficiency” in defending captured territory.

Ukraine has once again targeted the Russian capital’s financial district, with at least one drone intercepted and downed near the high-rises of Moscow City, local authorities and the Defense Ministry confirmed on Friday morning.
“Tonight, air defense forces destroyed a drone during an attempted attack on Moscow. The wreckage of the UAV fell in the area of the Expocenter, with no significant damage caused to the building,” Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in a Telegram post at 4:20am, referring to a major convention venue in the area are where some of Europe’s tallest skyscrapers are located.

Ukrainian soldiers crossed the Dnepr River on a boat to defect to the Russian Armed Forces. One of the defectors from Kiev's army told Sputnik that together with two of his fellow troops, they decided to surrender to the Russian military after three days on the front lines due to neglect by their commanders, lack of combat training and hunger.
The defector said that what drove him to this decision was the brazen negligence of his commanders, who abandoned his unit on the front without providing any weapons and food. According to him, he was trained for only five days at a "training facility" in the Zhitomir Region.

Ross Hart, a resident of Maui, stated while he was battling fires with his hose alongside neighbors and firefighters, the water shut off.

German Kids Passports All Go Biometric Next Year
Germany is doing away with children’s paper passports in favor of biometric documents with embedded electronic chips beginning next year.
The children’s passports had to be renewed annually and cost a one-time fee of €13 (approximately US$14.13) with €6 annual renewals. The electronic passport will cost €37.50 ($40.77), but it is valid for up to six years for Germans up to 25 years old, according to Google’s machine translation of reporting by the news publication Focus Online.
