Two Ukrainian Drones Attacked Russia's Kurchatov Near Kursk Nuclear Plant
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Two Ukrainian drones attacked the town of Kurchatov in Russia's Kursk Region, an administrative building and a residential building were damaged, regional governor Roman Starovoit said.
"In the morning, two Ukrainian drones attacked Kurchatov. An administrative building and a residential building were damaged. Experts... are assessing the extent of the damage. Details are being specified," Starovoit said on Telegram.
The Kursk NPP is located in Kurchatov, and the city is about 70 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on Thursday that the country has produced long-range weapons domestically, while his top security official claimed that a new missile program is in place.
“Successful use of our long-range weapons: the target was hit 700 kilometers away!” Zelensky posted in a Telegram message, referring to an exercise by the Ministry of Strategic Industries. Zelensky did not specify what kind of weapon was used, or what the target may have been.

The Greece wildfire has been declared the “largest ever” recorded in the European Union’s history as the country struggles to tame the raging flames. The fire has been burning unabated in the northeastern part of the country since 19 August.
“This wildfire is the largest in the EU since 2000, when the European Forest Fire Information System (Effis) began recording data,” the EU’s civil protection service said on Tuesday 29 August.
