Newsweek reveals CIA role in Ukraine
The spy agency is leading US efforts to aid Kiev, but claims it can’t predict Zelensky’s actions
The Central Intelligence Agency has boots on the ground in Ukraine and operates a clandestine supply network to help the government in Kiev to fight Russia, Newsweek reported on Wednesday, citing anonymous sources within the US government.
“The CIA was central to the war even before it started,” claimed the article, written by William Arkin. Its director, William Burns, famously visited Moscow in January 2022 and, though he failed to persuade Russia not to “invade,” he got the Kremlin to accept US “rules” – at least according to Arkin and his sources.
CIA Personnel Visited Ukraine Secretly to Help With New Weapons, Systems
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – CIA personnel have visited Ukraine with multiple secret missions to provide assistance to Kiev with the operations of new weapons and systems, an American weekly magazine reported on Wednesday, citing senior defense intelligence officials.
Information about some of those trips was kept private. At the same time, all the missions were conducted to avoid direct confrontation with Russian troops, the report added. “The CIA has been operating inside Ukraine, under strict rules, and with a cap on how many personnel can be in the country at any one time," one of the officials said.

The ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kiev has been dragging on for so long due to continued Western arms shipments to Ukraine, Russian former president Dmitry Medvedev told TASS on Wednesday.
“If NATO, primarily the US and its vassals, had stopped supplying weapons and munitions to Ukraine, the [Russian] special military operation would have ended in mere months,” Medvedev told the news agency. It can still end “in days,” however, if Washington and its allies stopped the deliveries, he added.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Russian Defense Ministry mentioned that the Ukrainian forces continued to make attempts to conduct offensive operations in Donetsk, Krasny Liman and Kupyansk directions. The Russian military repelled nine attacks in Donetsk and four attacks in the Krasny Liman directions, the ministry added.
The Russian armed forces launched a concentrated strike at sites of temporary deployment of military personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries, as well as at storage sites of Western armored vehicles in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

The footage and photos, which were first covered by Channel 1 on Russian television on Thursday, were reportedly filmed on June 24. Some came from Prigozhin’s office in St. Petersburg, while others were from his spacious property outside the city, which journalists described as a “mansion” and a “palace.”

TEL AVIV (Sputnik) - Israeli police used water cannons to disperse protesters who had blocked the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv in response to the removal of the city's police chief, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Wednesday.
At the time, police were attempting to forcefully push back the crowd gathered at an intersection near the governmental building a few hours after Tel Aviv's District Police Commander Ami Eshed announced he was stepping down. Eshed had explained the decision came as a result of "failing to live up to expectations at the ministerial level."

China’s Defense Ministry on Wednesday accused the US of “deliberately” escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait after Washington authorized the sale of $440 million worth of military equipment to Taipei last week.

Out of the total number, 7,000 were stationed in the France capital and its suburbs, including the streets of top tourist destinations such as Champs Elysees in central Paris as the police monitored calls on social media to take rioting to the heart of "La Ville Lumiere."
