I’ve already experienced the palliative care side of this. In 2020 I took my sons best friend in, he had a brain tumor. It was full on lockdown in Victoria Australia. He came at the end of January, and no palliative care staff were allowed to visit homes till the end of May and when they started to come the visits were every 2 weeks, support from the community based palliative care care service was minimal. As things progressed, it became quite clear you could only get a palliative care bed if you “promised” to be dead in 2 days. They are already dispensing with palliative care beds in this state. He passed away early February 2021. He. Spent less than 24 hours in a palliative care bed.
