Apparently, not every state has fallen in line. California has a Real ID now. I was offered one 4 years ago but opted for a regular license that will expire in a year and I'll be able to opt out again. The ID I have says in small letterring in the upper right corner Federal Use limits apply. If Indiana doesn't offer a Real ID at all, then you'll have to use a passport to fly. Passports will eventually be digitized if they haven't been already. The state of Florida doesn't offer an opt out. I had considered moving there but not now. What happened at Logan Airport?
We saw separate security checks for illegal aliens who had no ID at all to prove who they were. The useless TSA let them go through the “check” just like normal. Why the hell do we have to bring our IDs to take a flight?
The answer is clear: not safety, but CONTROL.

Go to your BMV and ask. Mine here in Indiana said it has been pushed off to 2027 or 2028 can't Robert which one it has been a couple of months since I was in there. But this is the 2nd time I've been in there and the date/year to be exact keeps changing. It is actually unconstitutional for thw states Constitution to be forced into compliance by the federal government.
Apparently, not every state has fallen in line. California has a Real ID now. I was offered one 4 years ago but opted for a regular license that will expire in a year and I'll be able to opt out again. The ID I have says in small letterring in the upper right corner Federal Use limits apply. If Indiana doesn't offer a Real ID at all, then you'll have to use a passport to fly. Passports will eventually be digitized if they haven't been already. The state of Florida doesn't offer an opt out. I had considered moving there but not now. We're being corralled into this one way or the other. I'll start taking buses and trains and driving after May 6 until they start requiring Real ID for those forms of travel. I agree with you that these restrictions are unconstitutional. But the constitution has been steadilly eroded pretty much since the founding and the courts are in on it. Massive non compliance and concerted actions are the only solutions.

However, the Real ID represents compliance with the notion of Federal citizenship as paramount and is a huge step toward total usurpation of the sovereignty of the individual states. The original constitution did not have the word citizen in it. If you were a male nonslave resident of one of the several states you automatically were entitled to all the rights and obligations of the federal and state constitutions. Whether or not you were considered a resident of a state was entirely left up to that state and its constitutionally compliant laws. As we all know that original constitution and its guarantees of the sovereignty of the individual states and their residents has been gradually eroded since the founding with adverse constitutional amendments, exective branch and congressional actions and court decisions. It's time to reverse this erosion through personal and concerted resistance.
